Global Centre for Capacity Building (GCFORCB) Organisation is a Public Health Non- profits capacity building organisation, dedicated to improve health facilities and human resources. Our work results in saving lives and developing skills of human resources and facilities. We improve collaborative operations, strengthen infrastructure necessary to handle the growth that comes from our healthy promotive service initiatives and develops relationship between charities, corporations, foundations, and government, gcforcb Organisation is a public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups.

Our vision is to strengthen India’s public health institutional and systems capability to achieve better health outcomes for all.  In pursuance of its vision and guiding principles, the Global Centre for Capacity Building organise teaching programs to facilitate the development of competent and committed professionals for practice, research and teaching; undertakes research; develops and disseminates knowledge; and reaches out to the larger community through extension, at the local, national, regional and international levels.

BACKGROUND

Every year, Global/Public Health students are required for by some of the most important INGO's, UN Agencies world wide.

Public health administration is the component of the field of public health that concentrates on management of people and programs. On a day-to-day basis, administration is needed to ensure that organizations operate efficiently and with success. The work of a public health administrator is at the same time similar to and different from that of persons engaged in administration in other fields. The administrative elements are similar. These include supervising employees, coordinating programs, preparing budgets, monitoring programs, and evaluating results and outcomes. Other aspects that are germane to the field of public health are different from other fields. Public health administrators are concerned with health and disease prevention programs. They administer educational campaigns and try to keep the people they serve healthy. Other health professionals have similar aims of maintaining health but often are restorative or curative rather than preventive.

The National Health Policy 2017 of the Government of India, section 11.8 recommends creation of a "Public Health Management Cadre in all States based on public health or related disciplines, as an entry criterion. The policy also advocates an appropriate career structure and recruitment policy to attract young and talented multidisciplinary professionals. Medical and health professionals would form a major part of this, but professionals coming in from diverse backgrounds such as sociology, economics, anthropology, nursing, hospital management, communications, etc. who have since undergone public health management training would also be considered. States could decide to locate these public health managers, with medical and non-medical qualifications, into same or different cadre streams belonging to Directorates of health." - National Health Policy 2017.

Many countries have identified primary health care as an urgent priority, but lack comprehensive data to pinpoint specific weaknesses, understand their causes, and strategically direct resources to address them. Further hence we developed to describe the critical components of a strong primary health care system and serves as the foundation of the initiative’s activities. Intended to guide what should be measured to inform and drive efforts to improve PHC, the Conceptual Framework includes the key system-level characteristics, inputs, service delivery processes, and goals of an effective PHC system.

Welcome to the UPANU Institute of Global Health (UIGH): Ranchi.

As societies become more and more knowledge-based, rules and institutions that shape local, national and global engagements will have to change to meet the aspirations of the youth of India. Designing these policy and institutions will form the essence of global health in the next few decades. Because they will be affected by them, the youth must participate in designing them. The number and quality of the applicants in our very first year has convinced us that the Indian youth want to have a decisive say in the society they want to live and work in.

The UIGH was conceived as the first Indian Institute of Global Health focused on the design and management of institutions and policy that govern company. It has been set up by an eminent council of senior global health experts, policy experts, administrators and philanthropists with a vision to develop a new class of global health leaders for India and the region. It is designed as a year-long post-graduate diploma in Public Health Administration (PGDPHA), and 6 months long Citification Program on Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPCPHC).

The UIGH is the institutional successor to several years of public health programmes that our founding council has conceptualized and run in various forms, in colleges and universities across the country. Across these programmes, we have graduated over 35 students, who have gone on to embark on successful public health careers in India, and across the world.

The establishment of a new institute invariably affords tremendous scope and possibilities to its various stakeholders, and that is certainly the case at UIGH. Our mission and aim is to build an excellence in public health training and research platform, and a vibrant community for talented and ambitious students, faculty and practitioners.
